A Transfrontier Conservation Area is defined as “an area straddling across two or more international borders where the natural and cultural resources are collaboratively managed by the governments and authorities involved”.
The location of each Transfrontier property is what makes it so special.

Enclosed by the Limpopo and Olifants rivers, the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park lies on the plateau of the Lebombo Mountains providing this unfamiliar park with a sense of tranquility. The Kgalagadi’s crimson sand dunes stretch for miles under herds of antelope and the black-mane lion rests under the giant camel thorn trees, providing a sensational backdrop for those visiting this National Park. Our special relationship with the local, indigenous communities makes these properties excellent options to combine with some of the popular big game wildlife safari experiences to be had in South Africa.

!Xaus Lodge (ph. Kaus) was created to blend into the rich desert that surrounds it. The lodge, containing 12 luxurious chalets, overlooks a large lunarscape salt pan. !Xaus offers an unbeatable Bushman experience. Guests can visit the Khomani San (Bushmen)community in their craft village to learn traditional games or to use a bow and arrow and enjoy the cuisine of the Mier community around a fire in the boma. The surrounding areas are also great for a morning wilderness walks in the company of a Bushman tracker and end the exciting day with the famed activity in the Kgalagadi, “listening” to the sun set over the Kalahari Desert.

Machampane Camp in Mozambique offers an intimate setting of 5 en-suite luxury safari tents which overlook the Machampane River and are surrounded by a secluded forest. The highlight of Machampane is the walking safaris. Three different trails, present three different experiences, all with unsurpassed wilderness and wildlife. Guests can also take part in a 4×4 eco-trail adventure, exploring the vast, remote wilderness or canoe down the Olifants River. There are so many different approaches to witness the wonders of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.
