Unique Walking Safari Experiences
Explore Gorongosa is an intimate owner-run initiative offering unique walking safaris in Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park. This innovative safari experience allows travelers to explore a rehabilitated game area on foot with an expert southern African safari guide and sleep in semi-permanent luxury mobile accommodations pitched along the way. Explore Gorongosa is the first and only private safari outfit being permitted to operate in this area, and with a maximum capacity of only eight guests at any one time offers a truly intimate, private and unique southern Africa safari experience.
The area in which the concession was granted is extremely special. There are massive herds of the famously shy Sable Antelope roaming the area. Also, guests have the opportunity to witness the ongoing wildlife relocations taking place every three weeks, under the guidance of one of South Africa’s top veterinarians. It’s not often that a totally new safari experience is introduced within Southern Africa, therefore Explore Gorongosa is thrilled to be a part of this exciting new adventure!
